Never give up, Never give in

Never give up, Never give in

John Chapter 6 53-69

Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real foodand my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”

Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe.”For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.  He went on to say,“This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”

From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

We are here to be ambassadors to the world, to show the light of Jesus Christ
in a dark world. We are not here to promote the world's idea of a perfect world
or their ideas of what a perfect civilization should be.

We need to believe in the person who saved us, Jesus Christ. We need to show
love and kindness to others, but most the most important thing that we need
to do is keep our loyalty to the Lord and to live according to God's word.

Whether in good times or bad, whether we have a lot of things or very little
in possessions, whether we are rich or poor, the only valuable thing that
is necessary to live this life is a close and intimate relationship with
the God who created us. Everything else is just an illusion.

Let us pray for the people of God, let us keep the hope of glory in our hearts.
Let us allow the Holy Spirit to comfort us in the the midst of darkness and confusion.

Let us pray for the people who are still living in the darkness that
they may be saved, for there is very little time left for redemption in Jesus Christ.

Keep praying for God's will to be done in this country, especially in Washington DC. Regardless of what you see going on there right now, God is still in charge, and whatever the outcome, His justice will be served.

Please pray for those whose lives have been upset because the world does not want to hear what they have to say about the real state of affairs in this country. People are being persecuted for their unpopular ideas, and just in case you do not know, that means the Christian point of view as well. Pray that they will keep the faith and call on the Lord for help in these times of distress.
