How to Strengthen Your Faith

How to Strengthen Your Faith

by Tonya Taylor

20 No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, 21 Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and  mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised.--Romans 4:20-21, AMPC

We true Believers want to know how to strengthen our faith. Sometimes, we can get weary, even in thanking and praising the LORD, especially when the enemy lies (As one saint said, if he's talking, he's lying!) and tells us our efforts are not working. Yes they are!

9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.--Galatians 6:9, AMPC

This morning, as I read this verse--which I have posted right under Romans 4:20-21, over my kitchen sink--I realized they can certainly flow together! I'd thought of "acting nobly and doing right" as helping others, praying for them, serving, giving, etc. This morning, as I was reading those verses, I realized that part of "not losing heart and growing weary and fainting in acting nobly and doing right" includes praising and worshiping the LORD--no matter how we feel or what's going on (or not going on, that we had thought would be!)!

Hallelujah! We thank and praise the LORD for His continual revelation, flowing to us and through us by His Spirit, Who is the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13-14; Revelation; things revealed that we need to know).

Romans 4:20-21 says we grow strong by faith as we give praise and glory to God, so let us give us praise and glory now!  Hallelujah!

Part of giving praise and glory to God is being thankful!

The LORD says, in Psalm 100:4-5 (AMPC): 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

When we praise and thank and worship the LORD, we get our minds off ourselves, and onto Him--Who is everything we want and need!

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts in You [leaning and believing on You, committing all and confidently looking to You, and that without fear or misgiving]!--Psalm 84:12, AMPC

I felt impressed of the LORD to write this today, because the LORD has proved these things to me, even this morning. I know He is doing great things, because the emotional attacks (fear, doubt, unbelief, attempted confusion and double-mindedness, etc.) have been pretty intense the past couple of days. I've learned when the enemy is this upset, that a great breakthrough is occurring, and I praise and thank and worship the LORD for the breakthroughs--and that He is good, all the time, every moment, forever!

Hallelujah!

Blessed be the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever! (Psalm 100:5)
