Loss of Morality for the Fallen Perfectionist
By Eric William
King
The “perfectionist” cannot accept eternal security
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Why? They base their understanding on
fallen Human nature which preaches you always have to earn what you get. The
Bible teaches that all people sin, fall way short of perfection. Humans have no
complete morality and perfection of character on their own, thus they could
never earn their love from God. The Human program is contaminated with sin.
Because of Human pride many start to believe that sin is arbitrary,
and that some how they can define for themselves what true morality is. This
never works because Humans are infected and sick with sin. So, what happens to
those who were raised Christian but latter on in life “fall away” from the
Faith? It seems that the cares of the world and the peer-pressure take over,
they must receive compliments and praise from other humans rather than God.
Many compete for the best look on Facebook. This is all fake.
They become ashamed of their Christian faith.
They become co-dependent on receiving praise from the “modern world”
rather than glorifying Divine Intelligence. Many fear abandonment and
long for acceptance. This dishonesty results in loss of true, Biblical
morality. It is not in agreement with true spirituality. Many narcistic belief
systems teach that everybody, your individual self, is God. This is about as
much selfishness as one can imagine.
They walk around claiming to be God. The more enmeshed they become with
this Human sin-disease the more deception they accept and the darker their
understanding of true morality becomes. All of a sudden, all kinds of sexual
perversion are accepted, divorce, killing babies, etc. etc.
Ultimately this leads to self-destruction.
When you lie to yourself it becomes destructive not only to yourself but to
your relationships with others - spiritual deterioration and ultimately damnation
results. The perfectionist always severely critiques the family choices. If you
call somebody in your family to share something and you find that they cannot
always just accept it for what it is, instead they become counselors on every
issue. This can be characteristic of a narcissist. They are always trying to
control not only themselves, but others. They become the elite-psychologist.
Don’t get me wrong, it is okay to share advice with others but it must be
invited and spoken of through love, not with a judgmental tone. True Christians
are to avoid fear, rigidity, and wrong judgment. Many who
have not truly accepted Jesus Christ and His teachings, those who have not
truly become regenerated, are motivated by fear – many also follow a rigid schedule
of what they call “self-discipline” when in fact they are not truly happy
people. This type of lifestyle can trigger disease.
There is a true spiritual perfection that true Christians have, it is
because we have true forgiveness of ALL our sins and we begin to grow in Truth.
Jesus says; “Whosoever he be of you that forsaketh
not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” [Luke 14:33]
We give all that we have and are to Jesus Christ, then we have true rest.
There are many who cannot do this and still believe that they have everything
under control in their lives. They live in self-will and self-deception. Today
we should pray for all those in this fallen world who have not yet heard the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. We should stay in fellowship with the Church of God
and complete the great commission given to us in Christ. That is what we are
here for.
I realize that all of what I have said here is hard-truth. We must not be
frightened of the truth. If we accept God’s Truth we become free indeed.
Resting in the finished work of my Lord and savior, Jesus the Christ.
“God, Please enlighten my mind with Truth,
Inflame my heart with Love,
Inspire my will with Courage,
Enrich my life with Service.
Pardon what I have been,
Sanctify what I am,
And order what I shall be.
Amen”
