Forgiven, and pressing
on.
By Eric William King (May 26th 2024)
Our past has helped create who we are today. As true Christians we begin to
realize just how much we have been forgiven for. So many bad choices and
mistakes. We need not continue to look through the review mirror as forgiven
Christians, but we can certainly learn from our past.
Apostle Paul states: “…forgetting those things
which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press
toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
[Philippians 3:13-14]
To wallow in the pain of the past is not a Christian practice. Once we
truly take personal inventory and give all to God, we can be rest
assured that we have been forgiven and begin to let peace - shalom - abound. Our past is certainly a
part of who we are today, that being said, what good are we doing today to make
for a better past? We have choices - to listen to the Holy Spirit, surrender and obey,
or try and pretend that we have everything under control.
When we try and control ourselves and others, we find failure
every time. To admit complete dependency on God sounds crazy and goes against
our fallen Human nature. Many never discover this important truth while others
find out this truth the hard way. We need to keep the sum total of who we are
under a true Christian perspective. God has never stopped working with us even
when we feel completely alone.
Through forgiveness, admitting promptly when we were wrong, we stay on
God’s channel and that is the righteous and loving channel. When we begin to
actually practice our Christian faith each day, we do much more than just
talking. It is my wish that if you’re are a Christian that you begin to study
with us here at “The Shepherds Way”
& “Nugget of Truth”. Stay with us
in Christian fellowship and prayer.
Divine Intelligence states: “I, even I, am He who blots out your
transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.” [Isaiah
43:25]
My prayer for you today is that you learn to truly trust in Him – Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen
