Health in sharing
By Eric William King (May 29th 2024)
To truly remain free after receiving the spiritual awareness of our freedom
in Jesus Christ is to share the story
of our past compulsive habits, our past spiritual sickness, with others. To
share our testimony of what we have been completely set free from. What have we
been set free from? The bondage of sin.
Not that we have "arrived" or that we have received "perfection",
far from it. Though we still sin sometimes, we do not live in sin. We
have all developed lonely habits throughout the years. To become social in
Christian worship, in Christian Bible study, and in fellowship - more than once
a week with fellow brothers and sisters, is extremely important to maintain a
proper relationship with God and His church. Find a Christian Church, get
involved.
The Bible instructs us: “And let us consider
one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one
another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” [Hebrews 10:24,25]
As Christians our spiritual growth is never finished. We learn from each
other and in sharing our own personal relationship with Divine
Intelligence. We must become truly willing to want relationship with
the True God. Being around other believers is inspirational and
uplifting. The Church of God is a family, a spiritual family. We have learned
that it is okay to share our problems, troubles, and rejoicings
with fellow Christians. This is the sign of a healthy church.
James, the Lord’s brother instructs us: “Confess your trespasses to one
another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective,
fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” [James 5:16]
Having a Christian brother or sister that you can call at any time is
proper. This is a good practice that the Church needs to promote. Develop a
prayer list naming people that you are praying for. Start a prayer chain in
your church where all can get involved. Visit fellow Christians throughout the
week, pray with each other. Here at “The Shepherds Way” and “Nugget of Truth”
we have developed these practices and can testify of their strength in
developing a healthy Christian experience.
My hope for you today is that you stay amongst fellow believers in
friendship and prayer.
