The Whirlwind Prophecy
This
is an important prophecy that we are all now experiencing. It is found in the
prophet Jeremiah ch.25. It is known as Jeremiah’s twelfth sermon regarding
Israel’s seventy-year captivity. Verses 1 through 12 explain the fact that the
prophesied seventy years of captivity would soon come to an end and then God
would proceed to finish “all that is written in this book” (vs. 13).
From verse 13 on is future from Jeremiah’s time, and into
our time. The prophet Jeremiah was shown a symbolic cup full of bad wine. This
bad wine represents religious as well as political Babylon. Babylon is the
symbol of the fallen worldly conditions in our time, both religious and
political. So the Babylon mentioned from
verse 13 down is the future Babylon, the symbolic period that we now find
ourselves living in.
The wine of tis symbolic cup that is given to Jeremiah is
full of religious and political corruption and even witchcraft. He is told to
dump this wine down the throats of all in charge, both political and spiritual
leaders. If they say that they don’t want it this won’t matter, God says that
they all must drink it. It is the fact of reaping what they have sown (Jeremiah
25:28). As a result, they will all “go
mad”. We see this in the political state of our present world. It seems that
all has broken out into a sort of worldly chaos that we have never experienced.
People doing mass shooting, terrorism like never before, political division
leading to murder on large scales. Wars and even more “rumors” of wars.
At the same time, we see an increase in technology,
particularly computer and AI technology. Humans are too smart for their
britches. The result of the leaders and rulers drinking from this Babylonian
cup created a massive “whirlwind” (Jeremiah 25:32). This is not just a physical
whirlwind but a global reshaping of countries and political parties like never
experienced before. It seems a major “house cleaning” is underway.
In Jeremiah 25:33 it states that this “whirlwind” brings
major death, not just physical but spiritual. People in mass turning away from
the belief in God. “And the slain of the Lord shall be from one end of the
earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be lamented, or
gathered, or buried; they shall become refuse on the ground.” (Jeremiah 25:33).
From verse 34 to the end of this chapter, verse 38, we read
of the fact that the Christian church is here experiencing this sad time.
“Wail, shepherds (Pastors), and cry.” It says that during this time God will
“plunder their pasture” (vs.36). The churches have become empty. Many churches
have had to close down due to lack of members. People have turned away, gone
unto their own fallen ways. They have become lost in this great “whirlwind”.
Latter-day Christians (the John Class) understand this time
that we are living in. This impresses upon our hearts to keep busy spreading
the blessed gospel of the Kingdom of God. It is certainly time to help awaken
God’s “sleeping elect”. We pray that you continue to study with us here at “The
Shepherds Way” and “Nugget of Truth”. Keep your Bibles with you at all times.
