Christians and Loneliness

Christians and Loneliness

The Christian church comes together first to worship, then to share amongst its members, praise and prayer. The Christian church is a place of “edification”. Christians are to help build each other up in the “faith once delivered”.  Most all people to one degree or another have no emotional support or association with those who wish to give it. It is extremely important for humans to help each other out.

As Christians we understand this issue much more than the non-Christian. We come together as a “body” at least once a week for spiritual, emotional, and sometimes physical support. People who have social “worldly” life’s have a different kind of association. Much of the world’s associations are not supportive, at least in the right way. Many sit around and gossip about others, cut others down. Also, addictions are supported by many people whom a person calls “friend”.

Christianity tries to understand what true mental health is. Loneliness is caused by more than one thing but mainly for lack of association with other people – also, the lack of proper or right association. It is healthy to befriend others who have different views than ourselves. Sadly, those who have political differences have allowed their ideology to completely control everything that they are. Many cannot be a friend of somebody that has different political or even religious views than themselves.

Many have socially isolated themselves. They only talk to those who always agree with them. This is not healthy. Inadequate and meaningful connections are lacking in the lonely person. Remaining by yourself for too long of a period can cause stress, anxiety and emotional depression. If you find it hard to get out of your personal loneliness, pray to God to give you the bravery and strength to find a Christian church to attend. Only for one hour worship service a week. Or, if you are uncomfortable with starting out worshiping, call a church to find out if they have a weekly Bible study. Get a Bible and show up.

If nothing else, at least “book mark” this Christian site (“The Shepherds Way & Nugget of Truth"). Study with us here everyday and send us some prayer requests. We will pray for you. The Ancient Antiochene Church of God has brothers and sisters in Christ from numerous different churches. Find yourself a local Christian church that you like and start attending.

We will always keep you in our prayers.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
