Christians and Popularity

Todays preachers yell and scream for attention.

Christians and Popularity

Christians and popularity. Today, many church groups and denominations compete with each other as to how many people they have attending. The more people the better the church. Right? No. Jesus stated that His true followers would be a small group in comparison with the norm. God has always preserved a “remnant” in each generation. The true Ancient Antiochene Church of God has small numbers, this being one of the signs of the authentic church.

As true Christians we do not brag. If we boast about anything we boast about our Lord. Many church pastors today are concerned about being widely admired and accepted by the masses. Many of the televised pastors dress, walk, and talk like the world. They show no holiness or sacredness in their preaching and teaching. Sadly, most all the denominations and so called “non-denominations” do not even understand the history of true Christianity.

Many pastors wear expensive watches, a pair of jeans, expensive trendy sport-shoes and speak unholy lingo. They say things like; “You will really be pumped up by hearing my new message!” Jesus never acted nor spoke like this. Jesus is our true humble example of true holiness, not todays fallen churches. At the Ancient Antiochene Church we understand that true Christians are different from this fallen world. We follow the humble Shepherd.

Jesus reminds us to focus on our mission and purpose as children of God. When the people of His time wanted to make Him the King by force, He retired to the mountains. Jesus did nothing by force. Jesus put the will of the Heavenly Father first. Apostle Paul did not care about human approval. Paul showed that God’s will must come first, before any person or any obstacle.

Self-exaltation is not a practice of the true child of God. As Christians we must learn to use any influence that we might have to point people to Jesus Christ. Pride and popularity are warned against throughout the Word of God. (Proverbs 16:18) We must keep our hearts in heaven, not on Earth.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord – please continue to study your Bible with us here at “The Shepherds Way & Nugget of Truth”. Do not get caught up in popularity contests. Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up. By following pure and proper doctrine from God’s holy word you can navigate properly through this fallen world.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

The John Class are the last-day Christians who have accepted all seven counsels to the seven churches and recognize the Seventh Angel (the celestial angel) as the angel “coming up from the east” (Revelation 7:2) which has this final message, the “seal” of God. This special message “seals” the true saints in their “foreheads” (minds) and is ultimately handed down to the 144,000 before the final Great Tribulation.
