Laodiceans
growing closer to Jesus Christ
As “John
Class” Christians we understand that we are living in the seventh church epoch
and that it is time to heed the counsel given to Laodicea by Jesus Christ. When
we read the apostle Paul’s letter to the Colossians, we have a special
reference made to the Laodicean church. This is not mentioned by mistake, God
reveals no words arbitrarily. Paul states; “I want you to know how much I am
struggling for you and for those at Laodicea.” (Colossians 2:1)
We understand that Paul’s letter to the Colossians has
special attention for the last day church. Apostle Paul ends his letter with;
“After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read in the church
of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.”
(Colossians 4:16)
When we give a basic outline of the topics talked about in
Paul’s letter, we could list it as such;
1-Thanksgiving and Prayer – Colossians 1:1-14
We find in this section Paul praying that Christians be
filled with “all knowledge” of God’s will and to gain “spiritual wisdom” (vs.9).
Indeed, today’s church needs this very much. Christians do not even understand
the true history of their own faith, let alone sound doctrine. We here at the
Ancient Antiochene Church of God have a series of lectures and articles which
covers the early history of true Christianity which includes the Patristic
period. We invite you to watch Presbyter King’s lectures on these subjects.
2-The Supremacy of Christ – Colossians 1:15-23
Today’s church is reading everything but the Bible. People
are putting trust in self-help propaganda and relying on special food diets for
everything to bring peace. Many believe that “all paths lead to God” and have
mixed pagan practices with their Christian faith. It is time for true
Christians to return to Jesus Christ – the fountain of all Truth. Paul says of Jesus; “He (Christ) is before
all things, and in him all things hold together.” (vs.17)
We also recommend that you watch Presbyter King’s lectures;
“The Creative Ages”. Christians need to
humble themselves before our Almighty God – begin to see just how big He is.
3-Working for the Church – Colossians 1:24-29; 2:1-5
Paul reveals that the “mystery is Christ in you.” (vs.27)
Our work is letting Jesus work in and through us. Learning to rely on His
strength is extremely important in doing the work of God. We learn that in
Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” True Christian
wisdom and knowledge is something that the modern Laodicean church needs.
Christians spend years in college studying things other than the Scriptures while
others read novels and everything but the Word of God.
The Laodicean church is lazy and “lukewarm”. Apostle Paul is
asking all of us to begin deep study in our Heavenly Father’s word. Study with
us here at “The Shepherds Way & Nugget of Truth”.
4-Freedom from Human Regulations through the Life of
Christ – Colossians 2:6-23
We find many of today’s fallen denominations trying to earn
their salvation through rule keeping, the modern Judaizers. Fallen churches
make day-keeping rules and food-regulation rules. Apostle Paul is telling us to
stop such things. Legalistic gospels are found just about everywhere today.
The John Class continues to warn other Christians about
these traps. Watch Presbyter King’s lectures to the “Seventh-Day Adventists”
regarding this important issue. Presbyter King rebukes them with the Word of
God.
5-True Rules for Holy Living – Colossians 3:1-17
Paul informs you to, “set your minds on things above.” (Col.
3:2) Many Christians today have “one foot in the world and the other in the
church”. We are to live differently than this world does – in our thoughts,
actions, and deeds. Many Christians have brought the “world” into the church.
Most of today’s worship services have become entertainment programs for the
fallen human senses.
The John Class promotes true Holy Worship, a return to
liturgical sacredness and Holy Hymn singing. Singing songs that explain the
story of redemption and salvation - also holding to the true practice and
understanding of the Holy Sacraments. Putting God back at the center of worship
and removing man.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as
members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Col. 3:15)
6-Rules for Christian Households – Colossians
3:18-25; 4:1
The fallen Laodicean church needs to return to the proper
understanding of the family. So many children today with only one parent or no
parent. The John Class understands that true begotten children of God make up
the God Family – and treat each other as such.
Men are to love their wives as Christ loved the church – He
died for it (Ephesians 5:25). Wives are to “submit” [pay attention] to the
needs of their nagging husbands – work together. Children are to learn to obey
their Godly parents starting from birth. Slaves [employees] are to respect
their bosses and others in authority that are using it properly. This is basic
common sense that has been lost in the dark world.
True marriage is between a biological male and biological
female.
Parents must become truly Godly before they can properly
parent. Time for us all to return to the Word of God – time is running out.
7-Last Instructions – Colossians 4:2-6
Finally, todays Laodicean Christians need to wake up!
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Col. 4:2) True
Christians are also careful and friendly around the unsaved people. “Be wise in
the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity [to share the Gospel].” (Col. 4:5)
One must know the Gospel before she or he can share it.
Study with us here at “The Shepherds Way & Nugget o Truth” – learn the true
Gospel of the Kingdom.
8-Final Greetings – Colossians 4:7-18
Christians need to stay in communication with each other.
There is no such thing as a “lone-ranger Christian”. At the end of his letter
to the Colossians, Paul is sending personal messages to other Christians. Paul wishes to all true Christians; “Grace be
with you.” (Col. 4:18)
So, what will you do with this counsel? Will you remain a
“sleeping” Laodicean Christian? Or will you wake up and become part of the end
time John Class?
Remember, our last book of the Christian Bible was given
directly by Jesus Christ to apostle John and is addressed to “the seven
churches” – the Christian church in total. (Revelation 1:4) If it is addressed
to all Christian churches by Jesus Himself why are the denominations and
non-denominations not teaching it? Because they are in the Laodicean condition
– they are spiritually asleep.
We are the Ancient Antiochene Church of God and we are not
asleep. “Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed
are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time
is near.” (Revelation 1:3)
