Luther against Post Millennialism

Luther against Post Millennialism and its modification, Amillennialism

This subject is extremely important to understand. Here at “The Shepherds Way” we have showed how “dispensational” theology was in fact accepted by the early Patristic Church. We have documented this subject closely. In our studies we have also demonstrated that as early as 300 AD there is talk about a pre-tribulational rapture before the council of Nicaea.

St Martin Luther was not called to be an eschatological defender. He did understand that the Roman Catholic view of Post Millennialism was wrong and it is stated as such in the Augsburg Confession Article XVII. The true Apostolic Church was in fact Pre-Millennial in their understanding.

St Luther was not familiarized with "pre-millennialism" and he was not called to reform eschatology.

Most of the fallen protestant churches have accepted the Amillennial view which is currently held by the Roman Catholic Church. Amillennialism is nothing but a modification of Post-millennialism. Both views are not Biblical and should be rejected.

Our ministry here (TSW) holds to the authentic Pre-Millennial view found in Sola Scriptura and the early writings of the Patristic Church. Hence, our dispensational theology in no way disagrees nor contradicts the Lutheran Confession. As a matter of fact, it magnifies Sola Scriptura

If you are a Lutheran Christian I urge you to get your Bible and study with us here at TSW and “Nugget of Truth”. If you are not a Lutheran Christian I urge you to study with us here. God’s true church is not denominated…all true Christians welcome.

Important Thoughts Regarding True Antiochene Theology.....

"Dispensationalism is the dismantling of the confusion that Catholicism brought to the church's understanding of eschatology. The early church was unquestionably premillennial. Amillennial ideas didn't really surface until the 3rd century and didn't begin to become popular until the 5th, largely thanks to Augustine. They started in the first place because the church couldn't fathom how God could keep his promises to Israel when Israel wasn't even a nation. So, they decided to take an allegorical approach to studying scripture, arguing that when the Bible says "Israel", it really meant the church. The protestant reformers undid much of the damage the Catholic church inflicted on sound doctrine, bringing the church back to a largely literal interpretation of Scripture...all except for books of prophecy, which accounts for 29% of our Bible. Hence, why amillennialism persisted.
Dispensationalism under that name is relatively new, but the idea that Jesus will literally reign over the earth in a millennial kingdom is not - it was the primary view of the church and it was what the apostles clearly taught.
Food for thought: Just before Jesus ascended, the disciples asked him when the nation of Israel would be restored. He didn't rebuke them. He didn't correct them. He simply said it wasn't for them to know when. He told his Jewish brothers to set about spreading the good news first given to Israel to the rest of the world. He promised that the nation of Israel would be saved when the time of the gentiles was over (Romans 11)."

Lest you be wise in your own eyes..."
