Developing Christian Consciousness
We grow into our Christianity as we
mature. Many of us have been baptized as infants and been blessed to have been
raised around Christian parents or at least one Christian parent. As many of us
have grown, we have turned away from church here and there and made bad
decisions but hopefully, if our baptism meant something, we always return to
the “faith once delivered”. Others are baptized and come to Christ latter on in
life. Some in elementary school. Some in their teens, and both young and old
adults still come to Christ.
Many of us have jumped around in our spiritual endeavors. Perhaps even
experimented with other religions, philosophies, semi-cults, “New Age” systems,
etc. A true Christian always returns to his or her true faith at some point in
life. God allows his children to experience struggles in different ways.
Through all that we go through, if we remain in God’s word and prayer, we begin
to mature in our Christian faith.
As Ancient Antiochene Christians we have been blessed with a full and rich
understanding of God’s precious word. Our goal is to grow into spiritual
maturity. We have called this the reaching of Christian Consciousness. What is
Christian Consciousness? It is a point reached in life where the person remains
in prayer with God throughout the day. He or she attends a healthy Christian
church and associates with other members of the “body of Christ”. It also
involves partaking regularly of the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Weekly group worship and fellowship is maintained by a mature Christian.
This may include visiting more than one church for some. The person who has
developed Christian Consciousness is constantly aware of the presence of God in
all that he says and does. The words that come out of a person who is in
Christian Consciousness are highly guarded and actions and thoughts are guided
by the word of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. One who is in Christian
Consciousness is fast to repent and make amends with others quickly when he or
she falls short. True Christian maturity takes time and is a life process.
The fully Christian Conscious person is attached to Jesus Christ and works
for him only. This is the experience of true liberation, living in the
righteousness of Jesus Christ. Anxiety over what others may think goes away.
The Christian obtains knowledge of absolute Truth. The Christian is mostly
filled with peace in service to God. A true disciple of Jesus Christ is
constantly engaged in the Lord’s service. Paying attention to those around him
or her. Being helpful and speaking the words of Christ is an everyday
experience.
The Christian Conscious person is in transcendental prayer throughout the
day and night. Through the process of devotional service, the Christian goes on
into further maturity. Those who believe in an impersonal idea of God cannot
absorb or relish in the blissful personality of Jesus Christ. Impersonalists
are spiritual suicide cases – they believe that they become nothingness. The
Lord will reward the fruitful workers. True Christians count their daily
blessings, they take nothing for granted.
The true Christian learns to be a steward of his or her psychic energy
[mental energy]. The Christian develops healthy and proper psychic values through
a living relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. The person who places
high value on the word of God will start this important process. As unconscious
patterns of bad complexes become revealed [become conscious], the Christian
learns to reshape his or her thinking process towards development into the Divine
Matrix Reality.
We hope that if you have read this you would continue to study your
Bible’s with us here at “The Shepherds Way & Nugget of Truth”. The
contributions of Presbyter King to our understanding of true Christianity can
never be overestimated. Take time to watch our lectures and read our articles.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
