Salvation
is All God’s Work
“Through original sin
man is in God’s sight spiritually lifeless and with all his powers dead indeed
to that which is good.”
Not
even the fallen human will participates in salvation. Notice from God’s word
that it is He who calls and saves…man has nothing to do with it;
“Then he [Jesus] opened their minds
so that they could understand.” (Luke 24:45)
“Not that we are competent in
ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from
God.” (2nd Corinthians 3:5)
“…for it is God who wills and
to act according to His good purpose.” (Philippians 2:13)
“And those he [God] predestined, he
also called; those he called; he also justified; those he justified, he
also glorified.” (Romans 8:30)
“The Lord opened her heart…”
(Acts 16:14)
“For it has been granted to you on
behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.”
(Philippians 1:29)
Jesus said; “No one can come to me
unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the
last day.” (John 6:44)
Jesus said; “You did not choose me,
but I chose you…” (John 15:16)
“…and all who were appointed to
eternal life believed.” (Acts 13:48)
Amen
And there are
many more references regarding this most important point. Please continue your
