Christianity and Human
Consciousness
Fallen human reality
is basically synthetic. It is not what it is supposed to be. We live in an
atomic and spiritual matrix that is fallen. Human perception is delusional and
deceptive because of sin. Only when a person becomes a begotten child of God
and gains proper wisdom and understanding will he or she begin to perceive true
reality and proper perspective.
Humans are created creatures of God. Humans are not God; they are
created beings yet they have a special purpose. They may become sons and
daughters of God. This life is part of that choice and experience. In this life
we are experiencing the three-dimensional reality of space, time, and matter.
This is the “playground”, the environment of our experience.
Our personal knowledge does not just come from our experiences in
this life and the use of our five faculties of sight, hearing, touching,
tasting, and sound. All of this plays a role in our learning but we have also
inherited predispositions. Humans have specific reactions to things and
situations in their lives which are inherited such as perhaps the fear of
snakes or the fear of the dark. These are not necessarily learned fears but are
instead survival mutations which have developed through our ancestors.
The Bible states that God’s laws are “written on our hearts”. God’s
word itself informs us that we have special program mechanisms installed by God
himself. The basic conscious of what we might call “wrong” and “right”
manifests at an early age. Though God has created us with our own individual
soul and personality, it is developed through the community of the human
family.
For the Christian, we understand that true knowledge and behavior
is taught in the Holy Scriptures, through God’s word. Through Divine Revelation
the “begotten child” of God receives a transcendental knowledge of right and
wrong, a spiritual static-certainty. Christianity does not teach the doctrine
of reincarnation. This false doctrine is found throughout fallen pagan
religions. The ideas of this doctrine stem from different experiences. One is
the idea that life always returns, we see this in the things of creation.
Another reason was the fact that people began to experience others
who looked like and reminded them of somebody that they once knew who had died.
Same facial features, same laugh and other mannerisms. Finally, people had
experiences that they could not automatically pinpoint as actually happening and attributed them to
the idea that they must have experienced these things in a “past life”. To
fallen human nature, this made perfect sense.
Many of these types of experiences have to do with the personal
collective and collective unconscious mind. We understand the personal
collective conscious to contain all of your experiences since you have been
born. These involve your five physical faculties and your emotions. You also
have inherited behaviors which come from your collective unconscious mind.
These two together ultimately make you who you are – your personal collective
and collective unconscious. We cannot leave out your personal chemistry which
forms your private and individually unique personality.
So as Christians these are things that we see and consider when we
begin to understand just how God made us. It is remarkable, all of the divine
laws that God has come up with and put together to create everything. We serve
an Almighty Personal God. We are created in His image – we are a person with a
personality. We have also each been given special gifts. When we discover our
gifts, we use them to glorify our Creator. This brings even a higher
relationship in our spiritual growth.
Ultimately, our trust is in our Creator, in our God. We hope that
you continue to learn with us and grow with us as a fellow Christian. Continue
to study with us here at “The Shepherds Way & Nugget of Truth”.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
