The Reality of
the Sinful Nature
All
humans, whether they recognize it or not, have a need for God. This is built
into the human psyche; this is how God created us. He created us to be in
relationship. We experience relationship in everything and with everything that
we do. We serve a personal God who loves us very much.
As Christians we sometimes experience persecution.
People may call us hypocrites when they see us make mistakes or do something
that we know is wrong. We mustn’t let the Devil discourage us. The fact of the
matter is, we are true Christians because we are not perfect, we need help. Our
help comes from God himself in the person of Jesus Christ. Praise God!
As Christians we have come to understand our true
condition as humans. We have inherited the sinful nature. We begin to realize
that the entire human race is imperfect and making bad decisions every day.
When we hear the Word of God we can come to the reality of our predicament.
Faith comes through hearing, hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As fallen humans we have learned to repress our fallen
natures. We like to try and ignore our sinful behaviors. Many resort to drugs
and alcohol to try and drown their way through life. Humans unconsciously do
things to ignore their personal guilt and sin. Unforgiven sin stores in the
subconscious mind and erupts into violence, yelling, screaming, etc. As
Christians we begin to understand this process. We gain the proper answers on
how to deal with such issues through the word of God and help from the Holy
Spirit.
Humans have gotten into the dangerous habit of
ignoring the reality of sin. Right and wrong have become arbitrary choices for
the fallen human. If you turn on the news and watch you can see the chaotic
fruit of such decisions.
Because we have inherited sin we are “spiritually
dead”. We must accept Jesus Christ as our God and Savior to receive new life
and become “begotten children” of the Lord. Then, as children, we can grow in
the “womb of the church”. In God’s true church we are properly nurtured as the
family of God.
It is our hope at the Ancient Antiochene Church of God
that you hear the true gospel of Jesus Christ and receive the new life that God
wants to freely give to you. It is a free gift and it is not earned.
May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you.

that shineth more and more unto the perfect day."
