“The
Shepherd knows His sheep.”
By presbyter Eric William King (August 30th 2024)
Jesus Christ
our Lord is everything to us. Jesus relates to us as friend yet He is much more
than that. Jesus appears to us in various roles. We understand Him as Mediator
between us and the Infinite Absolute. Wow. Can we even begin to comprehend
that? No. He is also a healer for us. He is a Comforter to us. He even states
that He is our brother. Most of all, He is our God.
The Scriptures
- God’s Word - teach us that God is LOVE. This is not polluted Human love; this
is agape love. When a fallen Human comes to Christ Jesus, he asks Jesus to take
away his sins, his guilt, his fears, his anxiety. The person wishes to become a
child again, “new born” into a blessed and loving family – the God Family. This
is all possible (Ephesians 1:4).
We never need
to dwell on all of our failures or bad decisions if we have Jesus Christ in our
lives. We become reconciled with God through the atonement (complete Life) of
Jesus Christ. We never have to fear confessing all of our sins to Him. He
listens and He completely understands. His understanding is above all Human
understanding, above all Human counsel and psychology. Even He is above all
science, He created everything and is subject to nothing.
Most everybody is walking and judging by “sight”. By doing this many have
turned off the reality of the unseen world that surrounds them. People have
learned to let their physical senses dominate them. As Christians we learn to
do everything for God. This is the true spiritual life. When a person truly
accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord, God, and Savior one is granted a new state of
consciousness. One gains a relationship with Divine Intelligence through the
Living Word of Life – Jesus the Christ.
Simply believe (John 6:29).
As a Christian you begin to grow, never reaching perfection but allowing
yourself to remain in constant and honest contact with the one who created you
and loves you – God. It is God who does the changing, it is God who does the
saving and healing. All He asks of us is to trust and obey – to believe (John
3:16). Our belief in God itself is a gift from the indwelling Holy Spirit – the
Comforter.
Jesus is not just a “wise teacher”. He claimed to be God Himself. If you
accept Him you will begin to realize that you are never alone, even if you
sometimes feel alone, He is there. He is the “Good Shepherd” and knows all of
His sheep very well. Though we sometimes give up on Him, He promises to never
give up on us. The Shepherd hears His sheep, feeds His sheep, heals His sheep
– He truly Loves them.
Trust in Jesus Christ – Infinite Intelligence. He will lead, guide, direct
and protect you. The way in which this fallen world “thinks” is the wrong way –
it is false. Turn to the Infinite Wisdom and receive clarification about who
you truly are. Nothing can stand in the face of God’s Truth without answering
to Him. Learn to accept discipline and sound correction from the Lord. Be glad
to give up sinful thinking. Now, rejoice in the Power of His Eternal Love.
The Lord is my Shepherd.
This is most certainly true.
