Christians in the Sifting
During
this period of the Christian church, true Christians are enjoying all the light
coming into the church from the Word of God. We have witnessed the fulfilment of so
many prophecies and their fulfillment has pointed us to new insights and
understandings. The Lord’s “little flock” which is sanctified is rejoicing and resting
in the new light.
The greater understanding of the Whirlwind Prophecy has
pointed out the fact that the fallen church has “drunk the wine” from the
Babylonian cup through its worldly affiliation. Today, churches are trying to
“keep up” with the fallen world. They are losing membership and money. Instead
of suffering for the Truth they wish to maintain “numbers”, “popularity”, and
“money”. This is the sad condition of the entire Christian church worldwide.
Since the time of Constantine and the secularizing of the
church and making it into a religio-political power things have not changed.
During the Lutheran reformation (restoration) the church was in many ways set
free from the Roman church but it still maintained much of its secularism. The
church and state have worked together to retain their power in partnership. In
this sense the government powers have tried to maintain that their political
party is part of the “Kingdom of God” on earth. Even the protestant church is
participating in a “church-state” association through its connection to worldly
politics.
Sadly, to obtain power, money, and numbers, secularism and fads must
be allowed into the church. Electric guitars, rock band drums, loud microphones
and weekly gossip must be allowed. Music that repeats the same line over and
over again to maintain some sort of hypnotic backdrop in worship service is prevalent - in almost every church.
The “bad fish” outnumber the “good fish” in the Christian
church today. What is changing? As the loud cry of the counsel to the seventh
church is given the “bad fish” must be thrown from the net. The sifting is
taking place. God is doing the separating. The “little flock” of true disciples
are proclaiming the final counsel to all the churches. We are learning that
“judgment must begin at the house of God”.
This counsel for Laodicea (the Seventh Church) causes many
to become uncomfortable. The counsel for
the last-day church (Laodicean church) has put true believers into the “fire”.
To stay in this counsel Jesus instructs; “Buy of me gold refined in the fire.”
This means that we are to allow this purification to take place even in our own
lives. We must now throw away the false teachings that have pervaded the
Christian church and even change beliefs that we once held to that we find out
were wrong beliefs.
The true embryo of the church of God suffers persecution by
allowing the Holy Spirit to change and purge - going through the growth process. True
believers become acquainted with grief and rejection. The true “begotten child”
of God begins to find out just how small the true remnant is.
Do not be discouraged, God's true children are still here. Study your Bible's with us everyday here at "The Shepherds Way & Nugget of Truth".
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
