Antiochene
Secrets of the young Jesus
Many
Christians wonder what Jesus was doing in his youth. Our Christian Bibles are
very silent regarding this point. As Ancient Antiochene Christians we have been
blessed with special historical insight that many Christians do not have. How
did we get this information? We have a beautiful Christian library that
contains rare manuscripts but still, this information has been “open” to the
public but difficult to find unless one was a busy reader and knew where to look.
We wish to share some of this knowledge very briefly with
our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. This knowledge is not something that
a Christian “must accept” to be a true Christian. This knowledge is historical
insight that ultimately cannot be proven. It does add some interesting ideas
about Jesus Christ and may give some kind of spiritual insight that one needs
in his or her faith. So, let us look into this subject.
Many of you have watched some of Presbyter King’s short
talks about this issue. Presbyter King has given talks about how the Bible came
together and, in these talks, he has recognized the influence of Essene and
Nazorean guidance. We will now share some truths that the Ancient Antiochene
Church of God has in its possession which are also somewhat controversial. The
earthly father of Jesus was Joseph and our records show that he was involved in
one of the five popular factions of the Essenes.
Our records also indicate that the Nazoreans were a sect of
Galilean Jews who traveled along the edge of the Sea of Galilee. The Nazoreans
had connections in different parts of ancient Syria and Damascus. They had peaceful interaction with the
monastic Essenes who lived in and near the Dead Sea. James, the brother of our
Lord Jesus Christ, was a leader in one of the more social groups of the Essenes
and of course, he was also a Nazorean. All of Jesus’ family were members of the
Nazoreans. They were seen as outsiders and members of the Essenes or one of its
factions. The Jews in Jerusalem called them the “crazy Samaritans”. Jews wished
not to associate with their fellow “backslidden brethren”.
The more liberal Jews who did live in and around Galilee
traveled to Jerusalem during special feast days. Mary and Joseph took Jesus to
some of these special feast days during his childhood. When Jesus was thirteen
it is said that he entered another school of “initiation”. Initiation just
meant that you became worthy of a title and certificate, kinda like a college
diploma. Jesus learned how to speak three main languages. He learned Aramaic,
Hebrew, and Greek. Of course, “dirty Latin” was also used throughout the
region.
Jesus was influenced by the teachings of the famous Rabbi
Hillel. Rabbi Hillel lived some fifty years before Jesus but his teachings were
still shared in the synagogues. To the family of Jesus, the teachings of Rabbi
Hillel simplified the priestly understandings and made the Hebrew religions
more practical and applicable for daily living. To the Galileans Rabbi Hillel
was recognized as a “northern” Rabbi and also somewhat of a prophet figure. The
Nazorean sect thought of him as one of its founders. The Nazorean sect during
the time of Jesus was also being strongly influenced by John the Baptist, who
had strong Nazorean connections yet was understood as an offshoot fanatic of
the Essenes.
Apostle Paul studied to be a Pharisee under Rabbi Gamaliel,
who was the grandson of the famous Rabbi Hillel. Gamaliel said nothing bad
about the Nazorean sect because he realized that they had recognized his
grandfather as one of their prophets.
Many of the early movements that God used to bring the
message together involved the fact that all these different factions had very
similar beliefs regarding the coming of the Messiah – in this sense the
multiple groups were beginning to unite. This frightened Rome. The political
atmosphere was “hot” during the entire life of Jesus Christ.
Today, many Christians are uniting under the pure gospel
message of the Ancient Antiochene Church of God. We are not a denomination, or
non-denomination. We are simply the true remnant of God’s children on planet
Earth. We welcome all fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We will bring you much more on the early life of Jesus but
we will end here with the knowledge that Jesus attended a “prophetic
rabbinical” school at Mt Carmel. He began this study at an early age and
continued until a development in his education which led him to Egypt. There he
studied at a special temple that was reserved to discuss different religious
studies. He remained one year in this special school. This school was a place
where teachers and leaders of other religions could “sharpen up” their
theological arguments.
We hope to share more with you about this ancient school. In
some ways, our ministry here is a place where pastors and all Christians can
learn how to “sharpen up” their own personal theological understandings. We
hope that you continue your biblical studies with us here and think about
joining the John Class. Those who qualify are those who try and spend 50
minutes a week studying our articles and lectures. Ten minutes, five days a week
will change your life.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
