Silent Walks
As Ancient
Antiochene Christians we have a practice called “Silent Walks”.
Not everybody can get out and walk, so in this case they may practice the
“Silent Place”, a personal location for time out, meditation, and prayer. Many
like to use their “Home Sanctums” for this practice. Sometimes it is
best to get away to a peaceful spot or take a walk in a favored park, a natural
location, or even a favorite street.
We call these special moments “Silent Walks” not because
you are not communicating with God but because you are alone with God, nobody
else to bug you.
By taking these special times out we can sort through our
thoughts. Let the Holy Spirit, intuitively, perhaps change your plans of how
you were going to handle some specific issue that you are dealing with. The
Scriptures tell us; “…in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength…”
(Isaiah 30:15).
Jesus would take times out for Himself, He would retreat for
prayer and alone time. We all must make decisions daily. At the time you
believe would be best for you, take time out, away from others. These do not
have to be long periods of time; they can be short and frequent throughout your
day. By being still in the mind you can direct all of your focus on the
presence of God and pray for His direction and guidance.
Just listening to the birds for a moment or the wind is
healthy. Connect with the beauty of God’s creation. Learn to feel God’s
presence more strongly in your everyday life. Make regular private times for
you and God. Christians who have begun to practice this have given testimonies
of how it helps them to think more clearly and make much better decisions –
both long- and short-term decisions.
Many Christians accept the fact of their forgiveness through
Jesus Christ and the fact of the presence of the Holy Spirit to convict of sin,
but they neglect the fact that the Holy Spirit is also given to impower them
for service. Part of being a true Christian is also being a witness. When is
the last time you tried to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with someone? Most
people do not like the feeling of rejection so they just don’t ever share the
greatest gift that they have been given.
Part of Christian maturity involves finding out what your
ministry is for the Kingdom of God. It may be praying for others and
financially helping different ministries out, and that is great. We must also
realize, as Christians, that we are witnesses in all that we do, speak, and
share with others. Taking the Silent Walks has helped so many Christians find
out just how God wants to use them in a ministry.
Theological harmony is pertinent for Christian maturity and
“Christian Silent Walks” will help you. The inner peace of the Holy Spirit
strengthens us in our studies and issues with life. We find the answers in
God’s true word by taking time out every day to listen. Awaken your deeper
spiritual self with the help of the Holy Spirit and clarity of God’s word by
practicing Silent Walks. We thank God for this ministry that He has given us.
We must never take it for granted.
True peace comes from knowing and understanding Divine
Intelligence (God). You are not alone. We welcome you to continue with us here
