The original "followers of the Way" were first called "Christian" in Antioch (Acts 11:26). One of the leading members of the Antiochene Church was St. Barnabas. "Apostle Paul says that “the god of this” fallen world is Satan (2 Corinthians 4:3-5). He states that this false god, the god of this “Aeon” has blinded the minds of most all Humans. The Greek word Aeon can mean three different things. It can mean “a specific space of time”, “a level of Heaven” and “a group of two created beings, both male and female”. In Paul’s use of Aeon here, he means the two fallen spaces, or Heavens – the Earth’s atmosphere and Outer Space. It is also a reference to our current space-time continuum." Syrian deities were once worshiped there. From 64 B.C. to A.D. 33 it was a Roman city. By the time of Apostle Paul, the city had many synagogues. We must understand that many religious movements developed in Damascus and rested there during the beginning of the Christian time (30 A.D.), this included those from the early Nazorean sects and Essenian sects. Damascus became a subsidiary of Ancient Antioch and was a melting pot of Hellenized Jews, mixed Gentile Jews, Pagans, and the theology of these groups mixed with Greek philosophy and Egyptian theology. "Jesus promised the “coming of God’s Kingdom” and He ushered it in. How? And when? We must understand that ancient Israel had been promised a coming kingdom on this Earth, ruled by a perfect King, Messiah. All the prophets mention or allude to this God King. So, this message to Zechariah speaks to the modern Laodiceans. "As we hear His word and meditate on His ways, we may experience what Apostle Peter experienced along with the other Apostles. Apostle Peter was sometimes allowed by God to enter “trance” (Acts 10:10; Acts 11:5; Acts 22:17). The Greek word for “trance” used here is “ekstasis”, we get the word “ecstatic” from it. It has different levels of experience but we could say that one of these is to be in communion with God while in prayer or in thought - and the mind becomes less aware of the person's physical presence and a sort of deep “day-dreaming” occurs in a rapturous experience of God’s existence." "The damage that false religion has done is deep. The “ghost cults” are still having affect in the pagan held traditions. Ancient Humans that were not connected properly to the Seven-Fold Stream of God’s Word, people from more superstitious religions, would have dreams of dead loved ones or dead hated ones and think;” They are still someplace in a ghost-body.” The belief in a “spirit-body” started early. There is a “spirit” in humans with a soul but having dreams and fear of the dead falls into a different category. Belief in ghosts and evil spirits became the mainstream belief." "It states that a time comes when ALL SEVEN COUNSELS will have been given, and understood by few, then “…the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful.” (Isaiah 4:2). This Branch comprises those true Christians who accept the counsel to the Seven Churches. Jesus is the “vine”, we are the “branches”. Jesus is the ultimate BRANCH from the “root of David”. (Isaiah 11:1) True Christians may prosper during this time, while the Seventh Counsel to the Church of Laodicea is being proclaimed. If Christians heed the seventh counsel, along with all the rest, perhaps great blessings will come. Perhaps even a nation that “returns to the LORD” can receive a “Golden Age” of prosperity, this could even be witnessed by the Church, before the “catching away”."
